Meeting the Gentle Giant: A Rhino’s Calm
Before I begin my story, let me tell you where I come from. I am a rhino, a serene giant roaming the boundless grasslands and warm savannas. My home is peaceful at sunrise, vibrant at midday, and quiet again when the evening breeze blows. This is the habitat that shaped who I am; a being built for strength yet always seeking moments of tranquility in nature.
I live in open savannas, dense grasslands, and dry forests in Africa and parts of Asia. I rely on wide spaces where I can graze, rest, and stay close to water. These landscapes offer safety for my thick skin and room for my heavy steps.
My diet is simple and steady. I enjoy tall grasses, fresh leaves, shoots, and fruits that fall from trees. I eat slowly but consistently and my day is often spent grazing under the sun.
Eating well keeps me strong and helps me protect my cubs.
Speaking of little ones, tiny rhinos are playful, curious, and full of energy. They stay close to their mothers for years, learning how to find food and how to stay safe. A calf’s bond with its mother is one of the strongest in the animal world and watching them grow brings a warm calmness to our harsh habitat.
Before I return to grazing, let me share one last thought. Slow down when life rushes you. Be patient with your days. Protect nature not only for us but also for the peace it brings to your own heart. When you care for the wild, you also care for yourself.
